Blimey, Oleg - I was absolutely gripped by this tale of horror!

I remember some terrifying fairy tales - in Germany in my late teens my au pair kids introduced me to 'Max und Moritz' by Wilhelm Busch - a poem about the nasty tricks two small boys got up to to terrorise the neighbourhood - most of those featured, including M and M, came to a sticky end. And most of the early versions of tales by the brothers Grimm are the stuff of nightmares....!

I've heard that German kids' tales can go pretty hardcore! And yes, the unabridged Grimm are pretty... grim and gory.
